Pitching dominated the headlines in the Blue Jays minor league system last night.

Lefty Nick Allgeyer was electric over six innings in Buffalo’s 5-2 triumph over Worcester. With a velo bump to push his fastball into the mid 90s, Allgeyer was ahead of hitters all night, then used his change up to great effect to finish off Red Sox hitters. He allowed only a run on two hits over his six inning effort.

In Florida, the much-anticipated pro debut of late 2019 IFA signee Yosver Zulueta came to and end after only three pitches. Zulueta underwent Tommy John surgery shortly after signing, retired one batter before being replaced. It was a long night for Dunedin pitching, as the D-Jays took it on the chin 19-9 to Tampa. Dunedin manger Luis Hurtado needed to summon position player Davis Schneider

In Vancouver, Sean Wymer was an out away from getting out of the 2nd inning with only a pair of runs allowed when he gave up a two out single, followed by a three-run homer, which put an early end to his night in a contest the C’s would go on to lose 11-6. Bright spots for the C’s in their second straight loss included two hit performances from Luis De Los Santos and Albertan Tanner Kirwer, and three innings of effective relief from Marcus Reyes, who gave up an unearned run and fanned four.

New Hampshire and Portland were rained out, and will play a make up double header today.
