Down on the Farm: 5/28

Rain made short work of last night in the Blue Jays system, but there was no lack of stories.

Low A

Dunedin 14 Tampa 7

Dunedin’s Addison Barger came to the plate in the 8th inning last night a single shy of the cycle, when he ripped a line drive to complete the feat. The 2018 6th rounder has been the most consistent hitter on a team that includes Orelvis Martinez, Zac Britton, and Miguel Hiraldo, and he had a career night last night with his 5-5 performance, leading the D-Jays to victory. Among Barger’s five hits were a pair of home runs, and 7 RBI.

Patrick Murphy pitched a clean inning as he continues his rehab assignment. Curveball specialist Lazaro Estrada fanned 8 hitters in 3 innings.

High A

Vancouver 3 Everett 0

Starter Nick Fraze was masterful, tossing six shutout innings, and with help from the bullpen to blank the AquaSox.

Fraze allowed only two hits, walked one, and struck out 7. Brandon Eisert threw two shutout innings, and Justin Maese a scoreless 9th to pick up the Save.
