Down on the Farm: 5/30

High A

Vancouver 2 Everett 1

The C’s walked it off against prospect-laden Everett, giving them a well-earned split in their series, and propelled them into a tie for first with the Aqua Sox.

The ever-reliable Spencer Horwitz led off the bottom of the 9th with a double, moved to 3rd on a Ryan Gold groundout, then came on to score on Luis De Los Santos’ single.

Vancouver starter Paxton Schultz tossed another gem, throwing six innings of shutout, three-hit ball. Hagen Danner took over, and while he did allow the go-ahead run in the 7th, the C’s came back to tie it in the bottom half, and Danner retired six of the last seven hitters he faced to get the W.

Low A

Tampa 13 Dunedin 10

Runs were the name of the game as the D-Jays came up short against the Tarpons.

Addison Barger had a pair of hits to lead Dunedin, his fourth multi-hit game in a row.

Starter Rafael Ohashi hit his pitch count with two out in the 3rd, having allowed one run and a hit, walking four and striking out the same number.

With the parent Blue Jays having said good bye to Florida for Buffalo, the D-Jays will finally (after a two year absence) move into TD Bank Park, their home stadium.

Buffalo and New Hampshire were both rained out.
